This patch adds DMA_ATTR_FORCE_CONTIGUOUS attribute to the DMA-mapping
subsystem.
By default DMA-mapping subsystem is allowed to assemble the buffer
allocated by dma_alloc_attrs() function from individual pages if it can
be mapped as contiguous chunk into device dma address space. By
specifing this attribute the allocated buffer is forced to be contiguous
also in physical memory.

The driver supports the following LED outputs as generic PWM driver:
TWL4030 LEDA and LEDB (PWMA and PWMB)
TWL6030 Charging indicator LED (PWM LED)
On TWL6030 when the PWM requested LED is configured to be controlled by SW.
In this case the user can enable/disable and set the duty period freely.
When the PWM has been freed, the LED driver is put back to HW control.

The driver supports the following PWM outputs:
TWL4030 PWM0 and PWM1
TWL6030 PWM1 and PWM2
On TWL4030 the PWM signals are muxed. Upon requesting the PWM the driver
will select the correct mux so the PWM can be used. When the PWM has been
freed the original configuration is going to be restored.

In some platforms (like am33xx), PWM sub modules (ECAP, EHRPWM, EQEP)
are integrated to PWM subsystem. These PWM submodules has resources
shared and only one register bit-field is provided to control
module/clock enable/disable, makes it difficult to handle common
resources from independent PWMSS submodule drivers.
So the solution here implemented in this patch is, to create driver for
PWMSS and take the role of parent driver for PWM submodules. PWMSS
parent driver enumerates all the child nodes under PWMSS module. Also
symbol "pwmss_submodule_state_change" exported to enable clock gating
for individual PWMSS submodules, and submodule drivers has to enable
clock gating from their drivers.
As this is only supported during DT boot, the parent/child relationship
is created and populated in DT execution flow. The only required change
is inside DTS file, making EHRPWM & ECAP as a child to PWMSS node.

Non-void functions should describe their return values in their kernel-doc
comments. Currently, some don't, others do in various forms. For example:
* Return the result.
* Return: The result.
* Returns the result.
* Returns: the result.
* Return Value: The result.
* @return: the result.
* This function returns the result.
* It will return the result.
Defining a convention would improve consistency of kernel-doc comments. It
would also help scripts/kernel-doc identify the text describing the return
value of a function. Thus allowing additional checks on the comments, and
suitable highlighting in the generated docs (man pages, html, etc).
So, as a convention, use a section named "Return" to describe the return
value of a function.

Our server rejects compounds containing more than one write operation.
It's unclear whether this is really permitted by the spec; with 4.0,
it's possibly OK, with 4.1 (which has clearer limits on compound
parameters), it's probably not OK. No client that we're aware of has
ever done this, but in theory it could be useful.
The source of the limitation: we need an array of iovecs to pass to the
write operation. In the worst case that array of iovecs could have
hundreds of elements (the maximum rwsize divided by the page size), so
it's too big to put on the stack, or in each compound op. So we instead
keep a single such array in the compound argument.
We fill in that array at the time we decode the xdr operation.
But we decode every op in the compound before executing any of them. So
once we've used that array we can't decode another write.
If we instead delay filling in that array till the time we actually
perform the write, we can reuse it.
Another option might be to switch to decoding compound ops one at a
time. I considered doing that, but it has a number of other side
effects, and I'd rather fix just this one problem for now.

stime and utime are declared __u64 but are never used. On a glibc system
this is harmless lint, but on a uClibc system, because of the difference
in they way header files stack, including stdio.h brings in time.h and
this causes a name collision with stime. Since these are useless anyhow,
we remove them.

SPEAr3xx architecture includes shared/multiplexed irqs for certain set
of devices. The multiplexor provides a single interrupt to parent
interrupt controller (VIC) on behalf of a group of devices.
There can be multiple groups available on SPEAr3xx variants but not
exceeding 4. The number of devices in a group can differ, further they
may share same set of status/mask registers spanning across different
bit masks. Also in some cases the group may not have enable or other
registers. This makes software little complex.
Present implementation was non-DT and had few complex data structures to
decipher banks, number of irqs supported, mask and registers involved.
This patch simplifies the overall design and convert it in to DT. It
also removes all registration from individual SoC files and bring them
in to common shirq.c.
Also updated the corresponding documentation for DT binding of shirq.

Inherit netprio configuration from ->css_online(), allow nesting and
remove .broken_hierarchy marking. This makes netprio_cgroup's
behavior match netcls_cgroup's.
Note that this patch changes userland-visible behavior. Nesting is
allowed and the first level cgroups below the root cgroup behave
differently - they inherit priorities from the root cgroup on creation
instead of starting with 0. This is unfortunate but not doing so is
much crazier.

In current code the ethernet PLL is not handled correctly. The PLL runs at 500MHz
and has different outputs. Only the enet reference clock is implemented. This
patch changes the PLL so that it outputs 500MHz and adds the additional outputs
as dividers. This now matches the datasheet which says:
> This PLL synthesizes a low jitter clock from 24 MHz reference clock.
> The PLL outputs a 500 MHz clock. The reference clocks generated by this PLL are:
> • Ref_PCIe = 125 MHz
> • Ref_SATA = 100 MHz
> • Ref_ethernet, which is configurable based on the PLL_ENET[1:0] register field.

This will allow to use gpio for chip select with no modification in the
driver binding
When use the cs-gpios, the gpio number will be passed via the cs_gpio field
and the number of chip select will automatically increased with max(hw cs, gpio cs).
So if for example the controller has 2 CS lines, and the cs-gpios
property looks like this:
cs-gpios = <&gpio1 0 0> <0> <&gpio1 1 0> <&gpio1 2 0>;
Then it should be configured so that num_chipselect = 4 with the
following mapping:
cs0 : &gpio1 0 0
cs1 : native
cs2 : &gpio1 1 0
cs3 : &gpio1 2 0

Armada 370 and XP come with an unit called coherency fabric. This unit
allows to use the Armada 370/XP as a nearly coherent architecture. The
coherency mechanism uses snoop filters to ensure the coherency between
caches, DRAM and devices. This mechanism needs a synchronization
barrier which guarantees that all the memory writes initiated by the
devices have reached their target and do not reside in intermediate
write buffers. That's why the architecture is not totally coherent and
we need to provide our own functions for some DMA operations.
Beside the use of the coherency fabric, the device units will have to
set the attribute flag of the decoding address window to select the
accurate coherency process for the memory transaction. This is done
each device driver programs the DRAM address windows. The value of the
attribute set by the driver is retrieved through the
orion_addr_map_cfg struct filled during the early initialization of
the platform.

the clock framework, we add clk support in the Marvell Armada 370/XP

Since the existing Device Tree binding that exposes a

release, we take the freedom of removing this property to replace it
with the standard 'clocks' clock pointer property.

When the mdio-gpio driver is probed via device trees, the platform
device id is set as -1, However the pdev->id is re-used as bus-id for
while creating mdio gpio bus.
So
For device tree case the mdio-gpio bus name appears as "gpio-ffffffff"
where as
for non-device tree case the bus name appears as "gpio-<bus-num>"
Which means the bus_id is fixed in device tree case, so we can't have
two mdio gpio buses via device trees. Assigning a logical bus number
via device tree solves the problem and the bus name is much consistent
with non-device tree bus name.
Without this patch
1. we can't support two mdio-gpio buses via device trees.
2. we should always pass gpio-ffffffff as bus name to phy_connect, very
different to non-device tree bus name.
So, setting up the bus_id via aliases from device tree is the right
solution and other drivers do similar thing.

Currently CGRP_CPUSET_CLONE_CHILDREN triggers ->post_clone(). Now
that clone_children is cpuset specific, there's no reason to have this
rather odd option activation mechanism in cgroup core. cpuset can
check the flag from its ->css_allocate() and take the necessary
action.

When booting through a device tree, the kernel cpu logical id map can be
initialized using device tree data passed by FW or through an embedded blob.
This patch adds a function that parses device tree "cpu" nodes and
retrieves the corresponding CPUs hardware identifiers (MPIDR).
It sets the possible cpus and the cpu logical map values according to
the number of CPUs defined in the device tree and respective properties.
The device tree HW identifiers are considered valid if all CPU nodes contain
a "reg" property, there are no duplicate "reg" entries and the DT defines a
CPU node whose "reg" property matches the MPIDR[23:0] of the boot CPU.
The primary CPU is assigned cpu logical number 0 to keep the current convention
valid.

Prime Cell spi controller through its system registers, which otherwise
remains under PL022 control which some protocols do not want.

memcg: oom: fix totalpages calculation for memory.swappiness==0
mm: fix build warning for uninitialized value
mm: add anon_vma_lock to validate_mm()
oom_badness() takes a totalpages argument which says how many pages are
available and it uses it as a base for the score calculation. The value
is calculated by mem_cgroup_get_limit which considers both limit and
total_swap_pages (resp. memsw portion of it).
This is usually correct but since fe35004fbf ("mm: avoid swapping out
with swappiness==0") we do not swap when swappiness is 0 which means
that we cannot really use up all the totalpages pages. This in turn
confuses oom score calculation if the memcg limit is much smaller than
the available swap because the used memory (capped by the limit) is
negligible comparing to totalpages so the resulting score is too small
if adj!=0 (typically task with CAP_SYS_ADMIN or non zero oom_score_adj).
A wrong process might be selected as result.
The problem can be worked around by checking mem_cgroup_swappiness==0
and not considering swap at all in such a case.

It reintroduces /proc/pid/oom_adj for backwards compatibility with earlier

The major difference is that its scheduled removal is no longer included
in Documentation/feature-removal-schedule.txt. We do warn users with a

RCU callback execution can add significant OS jitter and also can
degrade both scheduling latency and, in asymmetric multiprocessors,
energy efficiency. This commit therefore adds the ability for selected
CPUs ("rcu_nocbs=" boot parameter) to have their callbacks offloaded
to kthreads. If the "rcu_nocb_poll" boot parameter is also specified,
these kthreads will do polling, removing the need for the offloaded
CPUs to do wakeups. At least one CPU must be doing normal callback
processing: currently CPU 0 cannot be selected as a no-CBs CPU.
In addition, attempts to offline the last normal-CBs CPU will fail.
This feature was inspired by Jim Houston's and Joe Korty's JRCU, and
this commit includes fixes to problems located by Fengguang Wu's
kbuild test robot.

The registers in the GRLIB port of the controller are 32-bit and in big endian
byte order. The PRELOW and PREHIGH registers are merged into one register. The
subsequent registers have their offset decreased accordingly. Hence the register
access needs to be handled in a non-standard manner using custom getreg and
setreg functions.
Add setreg and getreg functions for different register widths and let oc_setreg
and oc_getreg use function pointers to call the appropriate functions.
A type is added as the data of the of match table entries. A new entry with a
different compatible string is added to the table. The type of that entry
triggers usage of the custom grlib functions by setting the setreg and getreg
function pointers.

This patch contains a new network driver for the network unit of the
ARM Marvell Armada 370 and the Armada XP. Both SoCs use the PJ4B
processor, a Marvell-developed ARM core that implements the ARMv7
instruction set.
Compared to previous ARM Marvell SoCs (Kirkwood, Orion, Discovery),
the network unit in Armada 370 and Armada XP is highly different. This
is the reason why this new 'mvneta' driver is needed, while the older
ARM Marvell SoCs use the 'mv643xx_eth' driver.
Here is an overview of the most important hardware changes that
require a new, specific, driver for the network unit of Armada 370/XP:
- The new network unit has a completely different design and layout
for the RX and TX descriptors. They are now organized as a simple
array (each RX and TX queue has base address and size of this
array) rather than a linked list as in the old SoCs.
- The new network unit has a different RXQ and TXQ management: this
management is done using special read/write counter registers,
while in the Old SocS, it was done using the Ownership bit in RX
and TX descriptors.
- The new network unit has different interrupt registers
- The new network unit way of cleaning of interrupts is not done by
writing to the cause register, but by updating per-queue counters
- The new network unit has different GMAC registers (link, speed,
duplex configuration) and different WRR registers.
- The new network unit has lots of new units like PnC (Parser and
Classifier), PMT, BM (Memory Buffer Management), xPON, and more.
The driver proposed in the current patch only handles the basic
features. Additional hardware features will progressively be supported
as needed.

This patch adds a separate driver for the MDIO interface of the
Marvell Ethernet controllers. There are two reasons to have a separate
driver rather than including it inside the MAC driver itself:
*) The MDIO interface is shared by all Ethernet ports, so a driver
must guarantee non-concurrent accesses to this MDIO interface. The
most logical way is to have a separate driver that handles this
single MDIO interface, used by all Ethernet ports.
*) The MDIO interface is the same between the existing mv643xx_eth
driver and the new mvneta driver. Even though it is for now only
used by the mvneta driver, it will in the future be used by the
mv643xx_eth driver as well.

_SUN method provides the slot unique-ID in the ACPI namespace. And The value
is written in Advanced Configuration and Power Interface Specification as
follows:
"The _SUN value is required to be unique among the slots ofthe same type.
It is also recommended that this number match the slot number printed on
the physical slot whenever possible."
So if we can know the value, we can identify the physical position of the
slot in the system.
The patch creates "sun" file in sysfs for identifying physical position
of the slot.

Filenames of devictree binding documentation seems to be arbitrary and
for me it is unneeded hazzle to find the corresponding documentation for
a specific driver.
Naming the description the same as the driver is a lot easier and makes
sense to me since the driver defines the binding it understands.
Also, remove a reference in one source to the binding documentation, since path

to the trip points dynamically. The platform specific PRCMU interrupts are

PPC_PTRACE_GETHWDBGINFO, PPC_PTRACE_SETHWDEBUG and PPC_PTRACE_DELHWDEBUG are
PowerPC specific ptrace flags that use the watchpoint register. While they are
targeted primarily towards BookE users, user-space applications such as GDB
have started using them for BookS too. This patch enables the use of generic
hardware breakpoint interfaces for these new flags.
Apart from the usual benefits of using generic hw-breakpoint interfaces, these
changes allow debuggers (such as GDB) to use a common set of ptrace flags for
their watchpoint needs and allow more precise breakpoint specification (length
of the variable can be specified).

Prepare devfreq core framework to support devices which
can idle. When device idleness is detected perhaps through
runtime-pm, need some mechanism to suspend devfreq load
monitoring and resume back when device is online. Present
code continues monitoring unless device is removed from
devfreq core.
This patch introduces following design changes,
- use per device work instead of global work to monitor device
load. This enables suspend/resume of device devfreq and
reduces monitoring code complexity.
- decouple delayed work based load monitoring logic from core
by introducing helpers functions to be used by governors. This
provides flexibility for governors either to use delayed work
based monitoring functions or to implement their own mechanism.
- devfreq core interacts with governors via events to perform
specific actions. These events include start/stop devfreq.
This sets ground for adding suspend/resume events.
The devfreq apis are not modified and are kept intact.

If CONFIG_BOOTPARAM_HOTPLUG_CPU0 is turned on, CPU0 is hotpluggable. Otherwise,
by default CPU0 is not hotpluggable and kernel parameter cpu0_hotplug enables
CPU0 online/offline feature.
The documentations point out two known CPU0 dependencies. First, resume from
hibernate or suspend always starts from CPU0. So hibernate and suspend are
prevented if CPU0 is offline. Another dependency is PIC interrupts always go
to CPU0.
It's said that some machines may depend on CPU0 to poweroff/reboot. But I
haven't seen such dependency on a few tested machines.
Please let me know if you see any CPU0 dependencies on your machine.

Use dma_alloc_attrs to allocate memory instead of omap specific vram
allocator. After this we can remove the omap vram allocator.
There are some downsides to this change:
1) dma_alloc_attrs doesn't let us allocate at certain physical address.
However, this should not be a problem as this feature of vram allocator
is only used when reserving the framebuffer that was initialized by the
bootloader, and we don't currently support "passing" a framebuffer from
the bootloader to the kernel anyway.
2) dma_alloc_attrs, as of now, always ioremaps the allocated area, and
we don't need the ioremap when using VRFB. This patch uses
DMA_ATTR_NO_KERNEL_MAPPING for the allocation, but the flag is currently
not operational.
3) OMAPFB_GET_VRAM_INFO ioctl cannot return real values anymore. I
changed the ioctl to return 64M for all the values, which, I hope, the
applications will interpret as "there's enough vram".
4) "vram" kernel parameter to define how much ram to reserve for video
use no longer works. The user needs to enable CMA and use "cma"
parameter.

USB musb merge from Felipe:
"usb: musb: patches for v3.8 merge window
We have here the usual set of cleanups for the MUSB driver; a
big set of patches converting platform_device_del() and
platform_device_put() into platform_device_unregister().
Another big set was applied converting to module_platform_driver()
macro in order to reduce some boilerplate code from all glue
layers.
Other than that, we had a series fixing one known silicon errata
where we couldn't read a few registers. In order to fix that
we're now using shadow variables for reads and only writing
to the registers which are known to break functionality when
read."
Here we add the required documentation for the STMPE Multi-Functional
Device (MFD) Device Tree bindings. It describes all of the bindings
currently supported by the driver.

pinctrl subsystem needs gpio chip base to prepare set of gpio
pin ranges, which a given pinctrl driver can handle. This is
important to handle pinctrl gpio request calls in order to
program a given pin properly for gpio operation.
As gpio base is allocated dynamically during gpiochip
registration, presently there exists no clean way to pass this
information to the pinctrl subsystem.
After few discussions from [1], it was concluded that may be
gpio controller reporting the pin range it supports, is a
better way than pinctrl subsystem directly registering it.

This switches the way that pins are reserved for multiplexing:
We used to do this when the map was parsed, at the creation of
the settings inside the pinctrl handle, in pinmux_map_to_setting().
However this does not work for us, because we want to use the
same set of pins with different devices at different times: the
current code assumes that the pin groups in a pinmux state will
only be used with one single device, albeit different groups can
be active at different times. For example if a single I2C driver
block is used to drive two different busses located on two
pin groups A and B, then the pins for all possible states of a
function are reserved when fetching the pinctrl handle: the
I2C bus can choose either set A or set B by a mux state at
runtime, but all pins in both group A and B (the superset) are
effectively reserved for that I2C function and mapped to the
device. Another device can never get in and use the pins in
group A, even if the device/function is using group B at the
moment.
Instead: let use reserve the pins when the state is activated
and drop them when the state is disabled, i.e. when we move to
another state. This way different devices/functions can use the
same pins at different times.
We know that this is an odd way of doing things, but we really
need to switch e.g. an SD-card slot to become a tracing output
sink at runtime: we plug in a special "tracing card" then mux
the pins that used to be an SD slot around to the tracing
unit and push out tracing data there instead of SD-card
traffic.
As a side effect pinmux_free_setting() is unused but the stubs
are kept for future additions of code.

This improves the packet_mmap.txt document in the following ways:
* Add initial information about different TPACKET versions
* Add initial information about packet fanout
* Add pointer to BPF document (since this also could be of interest)
* 'Fix' minor, rather cosmetic things

Up until now, cgroup_freezer didn't implement hierarchy properly.
cgroups could be arranged in hierarchy but it didn't make any
difference in how each cgroup_freezer behaved. They all operated
separately.
This patch implements proper hierarchy support. If a cgroup is
frozen, all its descendants are frozen. A cgroup is thawed iff it and
all its ancestors are THAWED. freezer.self_freezing shows the current
freezing state for the cgroup itself. freezer.parent_freezing shows
whether the cgroup is freezing because any of its ancestors is
freezing.
freezer_post_create() locks the parent and new cgroup and inherits the
parent's state and freezer_change_state() applies new state top-down
using cgroup_for_each_descendant_pre() which guarantees that no child
can escape its parent's state. update_if_frozen() uses
cgroup_for_each_descendant_post() to propagate frozen states
bottom-up.
Synchronization could be coarser and easier by using a single mutex to
protect all hierarchy operations. Finer grained approach was used
because it wasn't too difficult for cgroup_freezer and I think it's
beneficial to have an example implementation and cgroup_freezer is
rather simple and can serve a good one.
As this makes cgroup_freezer properly hierarchical,
freezer_subsys.broken_hierarchy marking is removed.
Note that this patch changes userland visible behavior - freezing a
cgroup now freezes all its descendants too. This behavior change is
intended and has been warned via .broken_hierarchy.
v2: Michal spotted a bug in freezer_change_state() - descendants were
inheriting from the wrong ancestor. Fixed.
v3: Documentation/cgroups/freezer-subsystem.txt updated.

Presently there are three peripherals that gets it timing
by runtime calculation. Those peripherals can work with
frequency scaling that affects gpmc clock. But timing
calculation for them are in different ways.
Here a generic runtime calculation method is proposed. Input
to this function were selected so that they represent timing
variables that are present in peripheral datasheets. Motive
behind this was to achieve DT bindings for the inputs as is.
Even though a few of the tusb6010 timings could not be made
directly related to timings normally found on peripherals,
expressions used were translated to those that could be
justified.
There are possibilities of improving the calculations, like
calculating timing for read & write operations in a more
similar way. Expressions derived here were tested for async
onenand on omap3evm (as vanilla Kernel does not have omap3evm
onenand support, local patch was used). Other peripherals,
tusb6010, smc91x calculations were validated by simulating
on omap3evm.
Regarding "we_on" for onenand async, it was found that even
for muxed address/data, it need not be greater than
"adv_wr_off", but rather could be derived from write setup
time for peripheral from start of access time, hence would
more be in line with peripheral timings. With this method
it was working fine. If it is required in some cases to
have "we_on" same as "wr_data_mux_bus" (i.e. greater than
"adv_wr_off"), another variable could be added to indicate
it. But such a requirement is not expected though.
It has been observed that "adv_rd_off" & "adv_wr_off" are
currently calculated by adding an offset over "oe_on" and
"we_on" respectively in the case of smc91x. But peripheral
datasheet does not specify so and so "adv_rd(wr)_off" has
been derived (to be specific, made ignorant of "oe_on" and
"we_on") observing datasheet rather than adding an offset.
Hence this generic routine is expected to work for smc91x
(91C96 RX51 board). This was verified on smsc911x (9220 on
OMAP3EVM) - a similar ethernet controller.
Timings are calculated in ps to prevent rounding errors and
converted to ns at final stage so that these values can be
directly fed to gpmc_cs_set_timings(). gpmc_cs_set_timings()
would be modified to take ps once all custom timing routines
are replaced by the generic routine, at the same time
generic timing routine would be modified to provide timings
in ps. struct gpmc_timings field types are upgraded from
u16 => u32 so that it can hold ps values.
Whole of this exercise is being done to achieve driver and
DT conversion. If timings could not be calculated in a
peripheral agnostic way, either gpmc driver would have to
be peripheral gnostic or a wrapper arrangement over gpmc
driver would be required.

The approach for mixing RCU and reference counting listed in the RCU
documentation only describes one possible approach. This approach can
result in failure on the read side, which is nice if you want fresh data,
but not so good if you want simple code. This commit therefore adds
two additional approaches that feature unconditional reference-count
acquisition by RCU readers. These approaches are very similar to that
used in the security code.

The tx data offset of packet mmap tx ring used to be :
(TPACKET2_HDRLEN - sizeof(struct sockaddr_ll))
The problem is that, with SOCK_RAW socket, the payload (14 bytes after
the beginning of the user data) is misaligned.
This patch allows to let the user gives an offset for it's tx data if
he desires.
