Fix up conflict due to arch/arm/mach-mx5/Kconfig having been merged into
mach-imx5 (commit 784a90c0a7d8: "ARM i.MX: Merge i.MX5 support into
mach-imx"), but the ARM_L1_CACHE_SHIFT_6 entry was moved to be driven by
the CPU_V7 logic from it in the old location in rmk's branch (commit
a092f2b15399: "ARM: 7291/1: cache: assume 64-byte L1 cachelines for
ARMv7 CPUs").
irq 0 now means no irq, so get rid of this unnecessary initializer.

It turns out that the logical CPU mapping is useful even when !CONFIG_SMP
for manipulation of devices like interrupt and power controllers when
running a UP kernel on a CPU other than 0. This can happen when kexecing
a UP image from an SMP kernel.
In the future, multi-cluster systems running AMP configurations will
require something similar for mapping cluster IDs, so it makes sense to
decouple this logic in preparation for this support.

The purpose of the vdd_handler does not make sense. We remove it
and use a generic approach instead. A new ios_handler is added, the
purpose of which e.g. can be to control GPIO pins to a levelshifter.
Previously the vdd_handler was also used for making additional
changes to the power register bits. This option is superfluous and is
therefore removed.
Adaptaptions from the old vdd_handler to the new ios_handler is done for
mach-ux500 board, which was the only one using the vdd_handler.

just define their arch_reset functions. As a result, the s3c2410 and

Apparently U8500 U-Boot versions may leave the l2x0 locked down
before executing the kernel. Make sure we unlock it before we
initialize the l2x0. This fixes a performance problem reported

The l2x0 core has been modified to unlock the l2x0 by default,
but it will not touch the locking registers if the l2x0 was
already enabled, as on the ux500, so we need this quirk to

If an ARM system has multiple cpus in the same socket and the
kernel is booted with maxcpus=1, secondary cpus are possible but
not present due to how platform_smp_prepare_cpus() is called.
Since most typical ARM processors don't actually support physical
hotplug, initialize the present map to be equal to the possible
map in generic ARM SMP code. Also, always call
platform_smp_prepare_cpus() as long as max_cpus is non-zero (0
means no SMP) to allow platform code to do any SMP setup.
After applying this patch it's possible to boot an ARM system
with maxcpus=1 on the command line and then hotplug in secondary
cpus via sysfs. This is more in line with how x86 does things.

To be able to relocate the .bss section at run time independently from
the rest of the code, we must make sure that no GOTOFF relocations are
used with .bss symbols. This usually means that no global variables can
be marked static unless they're also const.
Let's remove the static qualifier from current offenders, or turn them
into const variables when possible. Next commit will ensure the build
fails if one of those is reintroduced due to otherwise enforced coding
standards for the kernel.

There is a subtle race in the CPU hotplug code, where a CPU which has
been offlined can online itself before being requested, which results
in things going astray on the next online/offline cycle.
What happens in the normal online/offline/online cycle is:
CPU0 CPU3
requests boot of CPU3
pen_release = 3
flush cache line
checks pen_release, reads 3
starts boot
pen_release = -1
... requests CPU3 offline ...
... dies ...
checks pen_release, reads -1
requests boot of CPU3
pen_release = 3
flush cache line
checks pen_release, reads 3
starts boot
pen_release = -1
However, as the write of -1 of pen_release is not fully flushed back to
memory, and the checking of pen_release is done with caches disabled,
this allows CPU3 the opportunity to read the old value of pen_release:
CPU0 CPU3
requests boot of CPU3
pen_release = 3
flush cache line
checks pen_release, reads 3
starts boot
pen_release = -1
... requests CPU3 offline ...
... dies ...
checks pen_release, reads 3
starts boot
pen_release = -1
requests boot of CPU3
pen_release = 3
flush cache line
Fix this by grouping the write of pen_release along with its cache line
flushing code to ensure that any update to pen_release is always pushed
out to physical memory.

The generic version of l2x0_inv_all is only called just after disabling
the L2 cache and is surrounded by a spinlock. However, we're not really
turning off the L2 cache right now, and the PL310 does not support
exclusive accesses (used to implement the spinlock). So, the
invalidation needs to be done without the spinlock.

Since we're now using addruart to establish the debug mapping, we can
remove the io_pg_offst and phys_io members of struct machine_desc.
The various declarations were removed using the following script:
grep -rl MACHINE_START arch/arm | xargs \
sed -i '/MACHINE_START/,/MACHINE_END/ { /\.\(phys_io\|io_pg_offst\)/d }'

Rather than checking the MMU status in every instance of addruart, do it
once in kernel/debug.S, and change the existing addruart macros to
return both physical and virtual addresses. The main debug code can then
select the appropriate address to use.
This will also allow us to retreive the address of a uart for the MMU
state that we're not current in.

This patch adds spi->mode support for the AMBA pl022 driver and
allows spidev to correctly alter SPI modes. Unused fields used in
the pl022 header file for the pl022_config_chip have been removed.
The ab8500 client driver selects the data transfer size instead
of the platform data.
For platforms that use the amba pl022 driver, the unused fields
in the controller data structure have been removed and the .mode
field in the SPI board info structure is used instead.

This adjusts the clockrate for the MTU timer. On the different
UX500 variants this rate is different. The platform can also have
been set up at hardware initialization, bootloader or early init
for different clock speeds. To have the clock framework available
early so the timers can use them, the clock initialization for
Nomadik and ux500 is moved to IRQ init time. A custom per-clock
callback is added to handle special cases like this.
This solves a user-visible bug: without this patch the current
UX500 platforms will not be synchronized to wall-clock time and
the platform will drift in time.
